Market Drayton's second eleven played Kidderminster at home last Saturday knowing that to achieve promotion they must win their remaining two fixtures.

An optimistic Drayton side started the game well and pressured Kidderminster from the off; the pressure soon turned to goals with Richard Rawsthorne providing some much needed strength and pace going forward.

It was Rawsthorne who opened the scoring thanks to some creative passing from the midfield.

The scoring continued as Drayton's pressure became too much for the visitors; another from Rawsthorne, two from Ben Cadwell and one from Jared Fellows saw Drayton go into half time with a 5-0 lead.

The second half continued in much the same pattern as the first; Drayton pressured high up the pitch, some great passing between Ian Harridge and Jacob Hurt made it six to Drayton, a nicely taken goal.

Kidderminster got one back minutes later however; a fortunate deflection from a route one pass beating Dave Poole in the Drayton net.

Poole was unfortunate again for the second as a rebound off the pads from a Kidderminster short corner fell to an opposition forward who grabbed what turned out to be another consolation goal for the visitors.

Drayton hit back almost immediately; another from Rawsthorne gave the winger a superb hat-trick and Hurt grabbed a brace late on to take the final tally to nine.

A convincing win for Drayton's second team who now have a last fixture against Wednesbury on March 24th to negotiate, knowing that a win from this final fixture will see them gain promotion at Leamington's expense.
